1000 Pounds? Maybe a couple of times, but it won’t last. By J. Midgette I purchased this cart from a brick and mortar retailer near me. Actually, I purchased it twice. I was clearing some dirt from an area between my house and driveway and thought this would be perfect for hauling it to the low spots in my backyard. The handy swivel handle was perfect for letting me hitch it to the back of my lawn tractor to save me the effort of pulling it 100 yards each time I needed to dump it.

Great garden cart! By Dallas It is really good if you have a lot of landscaping projects around the house…the dump feature is helpful to me. I can pull large bags of dirt and mulch out of my truck bed into the cart and dump them where I need them, it helps a lot when you have a bad back, but still want to do some yard work. I choose this cart over the smaller one because of the reviews, the bed on this one is larger and can hold several bags of dirt or mulch without falling out. I had a wire mesh garden cart before that rusted out very quickly…I like this one a whole lot better so far.

Not as well built as it would appear… By D. Nicholson I have owned this dump cart for a month now and have used it quite a lot. From my experience with it, it is very top heavy and not as ruggedly built as I had hoped. To say that this could hold 1000-Lbs is a real stretch (like others have stated).
For Example: The other day while slowly towing the cart behind my riding lawn mower, down a 30 degree decline, with only 400 lbs in it (10 forty pound bags of topsoil in it), the front wheels collapsed under the wagon. The cart then flipped and bent most everything on the front steering end of things. The problem is that there is only 1 bar that supports the front wheels horizontally, while the rear wheels have two. The single bar is about 18 inches long and simply too thin to handle any real force being applied to it (like when the cart is going down a hill, across bumpy ground, etc.).
The cart also has a narrow stance, so it tries to tip over all the time, especially when making turns or if you have a full load of dirt. This cart would be fine if you had property that was flat and had no bumps or basically anything stressful that your front wheels might momentarily have to deal with, but unfortunately that isn’t my property.
It’s not a bad cart but it really is only a light duty cart that I would never recommend trying to put more than 500-lbs of anything in it. By the way this exact same cart is re-branded by a lot of retailers as I found while shopping for it.
