The differance is the angle of the hose nipple.
The Model 29 pictured, the nipple is angled up higher than the Model 22.
The anti-siphon is very different also. The M. 29 is easier to attach a hose and more ground clearance for filling buckets than the turned down M. 22.
I think the picture should be accurate to the item described.

I was able to get it together by leaving out the spacers and putting in the 5/8 washers and a few of mine , the last cotter pin was a challenge to fit in and the wheels are very close to the barrow , I will try to get a 27.5″ axle. I have a true temper USA 6cu ft wheelbarrow

Good Ideas Rw50st Oak 50 Gallon Rain

Most rain barrels on the market don’t completely implement the water they hold because the spigot is located with regards to halfway up the barrel. This is to grant buckets to be filled, but leaves with regards to a quarter of the water behind. And this remaining water is standing which may be hazardous. Barrels with optimally located spigots don’t concede room for buckets and leave only hoses as the draining option. The Rain Wizard 50 Stand solves these issues by lifting and supporting the Rain Wizard 50 rain barrel off the ground. With increased elevation, the barrel may drain at a much more immediate rate. Any filling device may be without apparent effort placed underneath the spigot without awkward tilting or maneuvering. The rugged design holds up under weight and weather, resists fading, bulging, and bowing. Comes in 5 distinctive colors to mix and match with your barrel.

It is a good distance from the ground to allow for a watering can below and it is a match in color to the rain barrel, which is great. But…It does not fit the barrel! The form of the stand should allow the barrel to fit in the grooves for a steadier fit. The stand must be placed AWAY from the house for a stable barrel which is placed AGAINST the house. My barrel can be seen from the street in profile so it makes for a less pleasing view. All in all, however , I do like this stand. Perhaps the manufacturer will improve on its design someday.

This is the first spreader I have used, so I can’t compare it to others, but I do know that it works well for me. It does a good job, and keeps working without having to fiddle with it all the time. All I do is clean it out, and it is ready to go the next time. One downside is that Scott’s doesn’t tell you how to translate the settings into lb’s / sq ft, so if the product you want to put down doesn’t list this spreader and it’s settings, you’ll have to do some calculations or endless searching. I would recommend this to others, as the price to value ratio seems to be good for a beginner. I don’t plan to replace this until it dies, which so far looks like it could be quite a ways down the road.

I used this and Scotts Fertilizer w/ Weed Control … Scotts fertilizers (and most others) recommend you do this when the lawn is damp from dew or sprinklers so i did what they said but when i was done i noticed the inside of the plastic wheels were full of wet melted fertilizer (you can see on the picture the wheels are shaped like a pie plate) .. and i also noticed spots on the lawn where it dropped some of the inner wheel residue and burnt the lawn …

The Spreader action is great and the Edge guard works perfect but the fact the wheels trap fertilizer is a bummer .. i will Keep this unit and keep using it but be warned

Cape Jasmine Gardenia Jasminoides Fragrant

Gardenia jasminoides or Common Gardenia or Cape Jasmine is an evergreen shrub, which grows to a height of 2 to 6 feet. Spread is regarding the same. The foliage of well-fed shrubs is glossy, dark-green, 2 to 4 inches long and half as wide. Depending on the cultivar, the flowers may be either single or double and up to 4 inches in diameter. They are waxy, white and very fragrant.Gardenias require significant maintenance. Fall or spring is the best time for planting. Plant in light to moderate shade, preferably with minimum contest from tree roots. Gardenias resent root disturbance. They also grow well in pots.Gardenias prefer acid, moist, well-drained soils. A good time to feed gardenias is mid-March, using an acid plant food, fish emulsion or blood meal. Feed the shrubs again in late June to give hope or courage to extra flowers on everbloomers or more immediate growth of young shrubs. Do not fertilize gardenias in the fall. Doing so will stimulate tender growth, which may be killed if the temperature in winter drops beneath 15 degrees. Gardenias are cold-sensitive and for the duration of severe winters may be killed to the ground in the Upstate. Often they revitalize in spring. Prune shrubs after they have finished flowering to remove straggly subdivisions and faded flowers. Water gardenias regularly. Drip-irrigating the shrubs will keep water off the foliage and blossoms and prevents leaf spots. Regular watering is necessary after blooming also to keep the plants in good condition and competent to withstand winter weather. The gardenia flowers are highly fragrant. They open over a long amount of time of time, from May through July and make outstanding cut flowers.Hardy zone 7-10

The precise number of species is not clear but it is someplace around 100. Camellia is an primary mercantile genus because of one species, Camellia sinensis, the plant from which tea is made.

Most gardeners know two main groups of camellias, the autumn flowering and the spring flowering. However, it is not rather that simple. Whenever a genus of a good deal of species (such as

Rhododendron, Rosa or Camellia) is used to construct a multitude of hybrids distinct groups tend to form.

There are four main camellia groups: Japonica, Reticulata, Sasanqua and Hybrid, with a number of littler groups based around less mutual species, such as Camellia hiemalis, and inter-specific hybrids, such as Camellia × williamsii (Camellia japonica × Camellia saluensis).

It’s a commonly kept faith amidst gardeners that Sansanquas are the autumn flowering camellias while the rest are spring flowerers. That’s not actually true, surely the Sasanquas are commonly the basi to bloom but with careful selection and siting it is possible to have more or less uninterrupted flowering from early autumn to late spring.

Cultivation

Camellias are often times affiliated with rhododendrons and azaleas and, while not that almost related, they surely prefer similar conditions. This is not at all surprising as they come from similar climates and may often be found growing together in the wild.

Camellias are in general less tolerant of extreme cold than the hardiest rhododendrons but they are by no means fussy plants. Most species and hybrids are hardy allround the country, requiring no shelter except perhaps in very cold winter areas, and the summers here are

not normally hot and arid sufficient to cause much damage.

To get the best out of your camellias it is essential that you follow the same soil preparation methods as commended for rhododendrons. Camellias have more inviolable and deeper roots but they still require the same moist, humus filled, loose, well-oxygenated topsoil if they are to thrive. Likewise regular mulching is always beneficial.

Camellias prefer a neutral to acid soil and will not tolerate the extreme acidity that most rhododendrons will. On highly acid soils the addition of little amounts of dolomite lime will not only increase the pH but will concede requiring little effort uptake of nutrients.

Once established most camellias seem to get by rather well without too much attention but they are subject to the same chlorosis difficulties as rhododendrons so occasional supplementary feeding is recommended. Containerised camellias ought to be fed steadily as they are far more subject to deficiencies due to their fixed root spread.

Camellias do best in sheltered positions in light shade or where they get only morning sun. This is not so much for the plant’s sake as the flowers’. The plants will tolerate exposed sunny websites but the flowers won’t. Too dense shade will promote lank growth and reduce flowering. Too sunny and the flowers will burn and drop prematurely. A internet site that is exposed to strong winds will dramatically shorten the life of any flowers but peculiarly camellias.

Disbudding

Many camellias set huge quantities of flower buds that oftentimes result in densely crowded little bloom. Thinning out the more densely packed and weaker flower buds will manufacture larger blooms of better shape.

Propagation

Camellias are not always easy to propagate without specialised equipment. Seed germinates well but is of fixed usefulness as it may only be used to raise new cultivars or to propagate species. Selected forms must be circulated vegetatively.

Cuttings must be taken just as the new growth is hardening off. This is normally around the end of November. Take new tip growth cuttings that are with regards to 100-150 mm long and follow the procedures outlined in the propagation chapter. The cuttings may take assorted months to strike without mist or bottom heat.

Layering is very successful with camellias but often there are no segmentations close sufficient to ground level to layer. In such cases aerial layering is a reliable, if slow, method.

Occasionally a camellia cultivar fails to carry out well on it is own roots. In which case grafting onto a more vigorous stock may be necessary. Standard camellias are closely always formulated by grafting rather than plainly training a popular stem.

Cleft grafting is the usual method used, however, saddle grafts and side wedges will work too. Budding is seldom used but there is no reason why it shouldn’t be successful. Specialised methods, such as seed grafts, are occasionally employed but these are for authenti fanciers that are prepared to experiment.

Pests And Diseases

Camellias are comparatively impairment of normal physiological function free but you may once in a while encounter one of the following problems.

Viral diseases

These are rather mutual amid camellias, in fact, viruses are now and again measuredly introduced to obtain variegated flowers and foliage. The most mutual virus shows up as a bright yellow leaf margin. This is known as virus induced variegation. In minor cases it does little injure but it may weaken a plant by reducing the amount of available chlorophyll. Virus diseases cannot be cured, once infected the plant remains infected.

Phytophthora root rot

This disease affects a good deal of types of plants, particularly those that prefer acid woodland conditions. This fungus impairment of normal physiological function kills the plant’s roots, which leads to the characteristic wilted aspect and in the end death. Generally the sensations or changes are not evident until too late. Prevention through ensuring that the soil is well drained is the best method. Plants may on occasion be saved by washing off the soil, removing the dead roots, completely wet with fungicide then replanting in a well-drained position but it’s seldom worth the effort.

Leaf gall

A fungal sickness similar to that seen on evergreen azaleas most times occurs on camellias. It causes a thickening and distorting of the leaves, which is at long last become white with fungal spores. Remove any affected leaves and spray the plant with a fungicide. Do not concede affected leaves to drop near the plant.

Petal blight

This fungal disease cause the flowers to degenerate to watery mush and may harm much of the crop. Control with fungicides prior to bud break and remove any fallen petals from around infected bushes.

Die-back

This may be a serious, even fatal, problem. The foliage of young sections wilts and browns then the stem begins to die back from the tip. A canker gives rise to that in the long run ringbarks the stem causing it is death. If the cankers disseminate to the main stems the plant may die. Treatment with fungicides will support but is not wholly successful. Overcrowding, poor drainage and poor ventilation may all bestow to this problem as well as making the disseminate of the sickness easier.

Camellias are in general not attacked by any exceptionally strange insect pests, just the run of the mill, aphids, scale, caterpillars, leaf rollers and thrips. The standard control measures are effective on camellias too.

Bagworms may cause substantial harm at times. The leaf covered silken bags (see illustration) are made by the larvae and the flightless adult females of the moth Liothula omnivora. The larvae feed from within the bag, which they carry around with them for shelter and camouflage. Hand picking is the simplest control, the use of insecticides is not warranted except in cases of severe infestation.

Training

Besides their normal bushy habit a great deal of camellias are suitable subjects for training. The most mutual forms are the usual and the espalier.

Standards may be formulated in two ways. The easiest is to select a young plant with a single straight stem and plainly remove the lower foliage and any side shoots as they appear. Stake the main stem as it grows and once it has reached the desired height nip out the tip growth to induce the branching that will finally form the head.

The procedure may be speeded up by grafting but the mechanics are not as simple. Select a vigorous upright plant that will quickly create the popular trunk and graft your chosen cultivar onto it at the desired height. Cleft grafts are the preferent method for camellias but I have found side wedge grafts to be successful. Grafting is the only practical way to fabricate a weeping standard.

Espaliering is just a matter of selecting an suitable plant and having the goodnatured tolerance to wait long sufficient to see the results. There are various methods of training the sections to achieve the best coverage but most camellias with thin pliable stems (primarily Sasanquas) may be espaliered with little effort. Remember though, camellias are not natural climbers, espaliers need to be secured to the structure versus which they are growing.

Other particular forms.

Camellias may make effective hedges, either tightly clipped or grown informally. As might be expected of a genus that holds the tea plant camellias may withstand ordinary trimming when actively growing.

Some camellias are suitable for use as ground covers but commonly only while they are young. In time all but the most prostrate forms will develop into mounding bushes rather than unfeigned ground covers. Pegging the divisions down as the plants grow is the only way to make sure this doesn’t happen.

Camellias in containers

Camellias adjust well to container growing but they are quick to show signs of nutrient deficiencies. Nothing looks less likeable than a seriously chlorotic camellia in a tiny pot. However, with regular fertilising and the right sized containers camellias will thrive and bloom to a considerable degree in pots.

As with all container plants, do not forget that their origins are far less insulated from the constituents than those of plants in the open ground. Make sure containerised camellias get regular water in summer and in cold winter areas move the containers to sheltered positions for winter to stay clear from having the soil freeze solid.

Flower forms

Camellias are available in assorted dissimilar flower forms. The descriptions in this book are held as simple as possible but occasionally the technical terms ought to be used. The terms single, semi-doubleand double are intimate and reasonably self-explanatory but most of the following terms are queer to camellia cultivation.

Anemone

A style with huge outer petals and massed little central petaloids.

Peony (paeony) and informal double

Large outer petals and littler loosely clustered central petals and petaloids. The more entirely petalled flowers are known as full peony form.

Rose form double

A double flower that opens wholly to disclose the stamens, like a wholly blown rose.

Formal double

This flower type has perfectly arranged concentric circles of neatly overlapping petals. Some have the petals in a very without doubt or question specified spiral pattern.

There are likewise rules governing the terms used to describe the size of flowers but as most non-specialist gardeners find these to be more mixing up than utile they have not been rigorously adhered to.

Species and cultivars

The following selection of species and cultivars includes those most general for garden use or that have interesting or strange features. They are divided into hybrid groups.

Species

These are the most popular or influential of the species but they are not widely available in nurseries, most gardeners preferring the hybrids.

Camellia chrysantha (China)

A yellow camellia was a long sought after intention of plant breeders, accordingly the basically white cultivars with optimistic names such as ‘Brushfield’s Yellow’. However, in 1980 a real yellow camellia was found in the Guangxi province of China. It flowered for the initial time in the West in 1984 and has since been the subject of great interest and speculation amidst camellia growers. It is a huge species that may reach 5 m high. The huge leaves are deep green and to a considerable degree veined. The bright yellow flowers are only when it comes to 60 mm diameter but it is not the size of the flowers but their potential for hybridising that initially had breeders so enthused. Reasonably hardy but alternatively chooses consistent cool to moderate temperatures, intolerant of extremes. Camellia societies have a few plants of this species but even now it is not in general available through garden centres.

Camellia forrestii (China, Vietnam)

Camellia granthamiana (Hong Kong)

Very rare in the wild; known, until recently, from just one plant found in 1955. It may be a natural hybrid rather than a true species.
These classic pearl stud earrings feature Akoya saltwater cultured pearls. They are set on 14k yellow gold posts and include push back closures. Akoya cultured pearls are known for their deep luster and lovely color. The pearls in these earrings have a fine white/rose color. They may be expected to range amid 6.5 and 7 mm, have splendid luster, and few visible blemishes or marks. Pearl stud earrings are an necessary percentage of any fine jewelry wardrobe. They are one of the most versatile pieces a woman may own–understated sufficient for everyday, sophisticated and refined in a professional setting, and shimmering and graceful for evenings.

About Akoya Cultured Pearls

Akoya pearls are invented in assorted varieties of saltwater mollusks in Japan and China. They were the firstborn to be cultured in the early 1920s and are the most usual pearls applied in strands and earrings. They create the most systematically round pearls with high lustre and very slight imperfections. Their colors range from cream and white to white-rosé. Initially, they look similar to round Freshwater pearls, but equated side-by-side, the divergence in lustre and color is obvious.

Cultivation
Pearls are developed naturally in the body of salt and freshwater mollusks, such as oysters and mussels. When these animals sense an irritant, such as a grain of sand, they formulate a soft coating of calcium carbonate substance around it. The result is a pearl. Because utterly round, naturally invented pearls are so rare, a routine known as cultivation was devised by Kokichi Mikimoto in the early 1900s. A little bead of polished shell, the nucleus, is used as an irritant and delicately inserted into the mantle of a mollusk. It takes approximately 20-24 months of intensive husbandry to cultivate a saltwater pearl and somewhat less time to cultivate freshwater pearls. The harvest ordinarily takes place for the duration of the months of June and September.

Color
Mollusks develop pearls in a potpourri of colors, accommodating most personal predilections and budgets. The general color of a pearl is also known as the body color. Pearls specifically range from white, cream, and yellow to pink, silver, or black. An overtone of secondary color is occasionally seen. For instance, a pearl may appear to be white, but upon closer inspection a rosy hue is detected. The body color would then be termed white-rosé. Color variation does not affect the quality of the pearl, altho it ought to be noted that color matching is primary when choosing pearls for a lot of necklaces, earrings, or bracelets. In fashion jewelry, pearls may on occasion be dyed to achieve the desired color, which ought to be noted in the product description or specifications.

Lustre
The appealing, deep shine of a pearl is often what defines it is beauty. This shine is produced by multiple layers of semi-opaque calcium carbonate crystals, called nacre. The nacre reflects light on the surface of the pearl, formulating splendor and sheen. Lustre is an integral feature in determining the quality of a pearl. Large pearls have a thicker nacre and, therefore, a higher lustre. When comparing a little Freshwater pearl to a huge South Sea pearl, the divergence is without doubt or question visible to the without training eye and ought to be considered when purchasing pearls.

Shape
While pearls come in a great deal of dissimilar shapes, the rarest and highest-quality are round. Akoya, Tahitian, and South Sea oysters tend to invent the roundest pearls, while those of Freshwater mollusks may be oval to more or less off-round. When taking into account a pearl purchase, whether it be a necklace, bracelet, or earrings, look for consistency in the shapes of the pearls. Many of the less symmetrical shapes are applied in stylish jewelry which may be rather beautiful: the drop pearl’s shape lends well to earrings, and the baroque pearl features irregular shapes that work well as necklace accents. In addition, a half sphere pearl called a “mabe” is often applied in earrings, necklaces, and bracelets.

Size
An oyster’s peculiar type and size has a direct effect on how big the pearl it develops will be, and pearls do come in a wide range of sizes. Round pearls are measured according to their diameter, while baroque pearls are measured by their length and width. A pearl’s size does not inevitably affect it is quality, but it does affect it is price. Large, round pearls are rare and their lustre is ordinarily high–this beauteous combining of traits is oftentimes reflected in the cost of such pearls.

The earrings look just as I expected. They are a ivory/white color and have a pearly sheen to them, which you can’t really see in the example photo. (Pearls can have an irridescence look to them. ) I bought this set on Gold Box special for around $20, and they are more than worth it. The shape of each pearl i recieved is close to perfect, and there are just a few very tiny flaws (little “dents”) in the surface that are so miniscule I had to look really close-up to even find them. The diameter of my pearls is 6.5 mm , which is almost exactly the diameter of the end of a standard pencil eraser. I have med-sized earlobes for a 5’2″ person, and I think these pearls are proportioned nicely for my face – even are a tiny bit larger than I might have thought to buy in person. The posts are a generous length too, which is good becuase they will poke me in the head if I go to sleep and forget to take them off ! I wish i could have bought 3 sets (extras for gifts), but the particular sale only allowed one set per person…

Brow
I do love these pearls! Like a previous reviewer said, I too noticed small nicks in the pearls. They aren’t perfect but when you are wearing them, nobody will see the imperfections. Besides, it seems mine are mounted so the imperfections face toward the stud. For the price, I’d recommend them.

Through years of use at our nursery, we have found it to be effective and easy to use. We suggest diluting to one-half the commended concentration. (As a caution, all insecticides and fungicides, even those which are naturally derived, ought to always be handled with care). 16 oz. concentrate
